Couldn't be more happier with my experience at Ron & Daves . I went there with half of an idea and a couple of pictures and everyone was more than happy to help me out. Dave responded to my emails right away. He was super cool about my idea and helping me figure everything out. Very knowledgeable, talented and respectful group of people . If your looking to get a tattoo this is the place .

I went and ALWAYS will go to John! He did my first tattoo ever and I just got my second one today! The shop is SO clean and I’m a clean freak so that definitely matters! I HIGHLY recommend John Francis! He is so patient, professional, and makes the time pass! I can’t wait to go back for my next one!

I did it again. This time it was a Christmas present to myself. I got the teal colored ribbon in honor of my sister Linda who had Ovarian cancer.(she is a survivor). July of 2018 i got the pink ribbon for me, who had breast cancer. Dave did my ribbon today. It is awesome. I love this shop. It's very clean, and everyone there is so friendly and kind. They are a keeper in my book! I already got the quotes on my next 2 tattoos. I can't wait to get them. Thank you Dave. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year everyone that works there.See you next year for my other 2 tattoos.Keep up the good work.

Lopez Family Tattooing since 1973

The year was 1973 and an 18 year old Ron Lopez was finally on his way (unknowingly at the time) to establishing one of the most recognizable family names in east coast american tattooing today. A self taught tattooer, Ron quickly developed a reputation for creating clean, solid tattoos in an efficient manner. This made him quite popular amongst tattoo collectors. There was only one problem at that time, tattooing in staten island NY had been banned as part of a city wide ordinance since 1961 stating that it was "unlawful for any person to tattoo a human being", so Ron decided to move his increasingly expanding business to Elizabeth NJ and opened Ron's Tattooing in 1986. It's proximity to Staten Island was ideal for his loyal client base as it was a quick hop, skip, and a jump over the Goethals Bridge and he no longer felt the pressures of working "underground". Clients came in droves to what is now the longest running (original owner) tattoo studio in Elizabeth NJ. This landmark (across from the white castle) is where both of Ron's sons, Chris and Dave, learned the craft from their father.    Ron’s Tattooing continues to operate a walk-in only business seven days a week at 607 westfield avenue Elizabeth NJ.

In 1997 the NYC ban on tattooing was lifted and the Lopez family decided it would be a good time to establish a second location in their hometown of Staten Island, this is when Ron and Dave's Tattooing was born. Ron and Dave's Tattooing was established on January 18, 1998 and proved to be a great success due to the fact that Ron had set the foundation years earlier by tattooing a very large amount of Staten Island residents.
